During our tours through Cangaua and Oyacachi, we realized that these places offer more than just nature to discover: rural schools working hard to educate children from low-income families. These communities are part of the landscape we explore, and we want to give something back to them. With this purpose in mind, we launched a donation campaign with the commitment to allocate 10% of our annual gross revenue as a company to support foundations or schools in need. Last month, thanks to the generosity of a friend of our company, the collaboration of our customers, and everyone’s effort in the campaign, we were able to gather a significant amount of resources. And we achieved one of our goals: to provide concrete help to two schools in Cangaua and Oyacachi, and one children care center in the south of Quito. A Purposeful Journey These two communities are located near routes that, as a motorcycle tour company, we know very well. Cangaua and Oyacachi are stops we often make with our tourists, who come to experience the thrill of riding through rural roads and enjoying Ecuador’s natural beauty. However, during these visits, we don’t just admire the scenery; we also observe the needs of the people living there. That’s how we identified these two schools. The schools, with limited resources, opened our eyes to the importance of investing in their education and future. In each one, the teachers dedicate their lives to education, despite the lack of infrastructure, teaching materials, and basic equipment. The children, always smiling, welcomed us on several occasions, and we could see firsthand what they needed to improve their education. We decided we had to do more than just pass by; we wanted our presence to leave a positive mark. The Donation Campaign: A Collective Effort Our donation campaign was born from the idea that we can all contribute to the well-being of the communities we encounter on our journeys. We established a clear plan: 10% of all our annual revenue from motorcycle tours would be allocated to charitable causes, with a particular focus on children’s education and supporting foundations that work with low-income children. Upon arriving at the schools, we were welcomed by the teachers, who were visibly moved and thanked us repeatedly for the help, explaining that these materials would allow them to improve the quality of education and offer more resources to the students. One of the most special moments was when we handed over 3 sets of speakers for different ambiances. The teachers explained that with this equipment, they could conduct more interactive and dynamic activities with the children.
