The KTM 1290 Super Adventure R is a beast. There’s no other way to put it. Its a High-performance machine for experienced riders who want it all.
It’s powered by a 1301cc V-twin that delivers serious power—fast, aggressive, and always ready to go. Twist the throttle and it moves, hard. Definitely not a bike you take lightly.
What’s surprising is how capable it is off-road for its size. With long-travel suspension, proper geometry, and KTM’s setup, it can handle rough terrain way better than you’d expect. Open gravel roads, sand, rocky sections… it’s built to charge through them.
That said, it’s still a big bike. In tight or technical terrain, the weight is there, and if you’re not experienced, it can get overwhelming pretty quickly. This is not the bike to “learn” on.
On the road, it’s incredibly comfortable. Stable at speed, good wind protection, and more than enough power for long-distance touring. You can cover serious ground on this thing.
Electronics are advanced but useful—ride modes, traction control, ABS—all there to help manage the power, not hide it.
