The Honda XR650L is a proper old-school dual sport. No fancy electronics, no riding modes, nothing extra. Just a big air-cooled single that does its job and keeps going. This one is easy to mess up if you treat it like just another 650. It’s not. The XR650L is raw, tall, and unapologetically old-school.
It’s got a 644cc engine with strong low-end torque, which makes it really good for climbs, loose terrain, and slow technical sections. You don’t need to rev it hard, it just pulls.
This bike feels tall—and it is. Seat height is no joke, so shorter riders will notice it right away. But once you’re moving, it feels lighter than expected and surprisingly capable off-road. That’s where it really makes sense.
